The political philosophies espoused in this novel are unfortunately unworkable in real life, but with a plausible-sounding veneer over them. They're just the sort of thing to catch the imagination of people in their late teens and early 20s -- old enough to fall for the veneer, young enough not to have the life experience to see the flaws. If this book becomes as popular as I expect it will, there may be trouble down the line with people who have never looked past the veneer.
