I managed to take a quick peek at "The Unspecialist." It's pretty weak, to be sure, with characters I couldn't tell apart and a plot that only exists to build up to the unexciting punch line. I'm not sure I buy the premise anyway. I was guessing that the "Bean Brain" was going to turn out to be a librarian or some other kind of scholar, maybe even a monk, given the Latin in the illustration.

Speaking of which, do you know that the Latin means? The best I can make of it is something like "You fly, immersed to the ears in refuse." Which makes some sense, given the cargo aboard the starship. Maybe somebody can provide a better translation.
