It's easy on paper, using the ideal rocket equation. In real life, there are thousands of moving parts and hundreds of hands to coordinate. I'm willing to bet that Von Braun's Juno II team isn't putting much heart into things. The rocket is an evolutionary dead end now that the Air Force has got the monopoly on boosters.

Unless the Germans get the green light to make Saturn...
